At Nando's, home is where the art is, so it was pretty important for us to find the perfect piece to display in our new nest. Luckily South African artist Liza Grobler created "Honeydew," a mosiac made up of handcrafted ceramic half squares. What is sure to be the focal point of our West Loop location, "Honeydew" is 13 feet wide and 6.5 feet tall and comes from the Yellowwoods Art-directed Half Square project.
The studio spent six months developing the project, which focuses on custom ceramic colors that contribute to a varied palette with the finest of nuances and gradations possible. Liza has done work for Nando's in the past, and encourages viewers to travel with her into an imaginary world where fact and fiction become one, everything is in flux, and anything is possible. This is one journey you'll have to experience for yourself!
There are more than 600 pieces of original and contemporary South African art displayed in Nando’s US restaurants. More than 7,500 unique pieces of South African art are displayed at Nando’s restaurants — in 23 nations around the globe — making us the largest South African collection displayed internationally.
